Manufacturing & customization

The floor, top to bottom.

Compression, LSR, mold-cutting, post-cure, QC, decoration, and packaging — all under one roof. Wetop owns the presses, the ovens, the molds, and the production logs. Nothing subcontracted, nothing offshored twice. Every program is tooled from a customer’s CAD or engineered from a written brief.

Manufacturing processes

Four processes, one shop floor.

Every part on your program flows through this sequence. Compression, LSR, mold-cutting, and post-cure — nothing subcontracted.

Hydraulic compression press line running silicone cure cycles 01

Compression molding

Hydraulic presses calibrated for food-grade silicone. 3–8 minute cycle per part depending on geometry. Best for HCR, roll-up geometries, and any high-Shore-A grip line where LSR viscosity fights the tool.

Cycle time
3 – 8 min
Peak temp
175 °C
Best for
HCR · roll-up · thick section
LSR injection molding cell for tight-tolerance silicone parts 02

LSR injection

Liquid silicone rubber injection cells for tight-tolerance kitchen, personal-care, and baby-feeding parts. Self-deflashing tools, high-cavity automation, biocompatible platinum-cure grades.

Cycle time
30 – 90 s
Tolerance
±0.05 mm
Best for
Fine detail · repeat volume · baby / personal-care
In-house mold workshop cutting P20 hardened steel silicone molds 03

In-house mold workshop

P20 hardened steel molds cut here on 5-axis CNC. We do not outsource any mold. Your tooling stays in customer-segregated storage for the life of the SKU. 500,000+ shot rating.

Post-cure & secondary process

Every batch goes through 4–6 hours in a 200 °C post-cure oven — the step that lets us issue per-batch LFGB §30/31 test reports on organic volatiles. Suppliers who skip this step fail EU premium retail audit.

Clears residual VOCs · unlocks LFGB

Materials & cure systems

Platinum by default. Peroxide when it fits.

Cure system is specified on the master-batch lot certificate for every batch. Retail programs above the $15 shelf tier default to platinum-cure — read the cure decision framework.

Default · food & body contact

Platinum-cured silicone

Pt-catalyzed addition cure. USP Class VI-compatible. No cure byproducts, no first-heat odor. Standard for premium retail, PFAS-free positioning, baby, and personal-care programs.

Cost tier · industrial

Peroxide-cured silicone

Traditional cure with 4–6 hour post-cure mandatory. Well-suited to mid-tier retail accessory programs where post-cure clears organic volatiles. Verified PFAS-free process aids on every lot.

Sub-line · valve / syringe

Self-lubricating LSR

Reduces post-mold coating for valves, syringe pistons, and tight-tolerance sliding fits. Available on request against MOQ 1,000.

Sub-line · lens / lighting

Optical LSR

Clarity-grade LSR for LED lenses and light diffusers. Higher transmission than standard clear-cast silicone.

Customization · Decoration

Four decoration methods, one durability matrix.

The right method depends on where the mark will live and how it must survive — deep dive in the deboss vs print vs laser vs IML decoder.

In-mold debossing — decoration on silicone product

In-mold debossing

Logo or artwork cut into the mold cavity — appears as a recessed relief in the finished silicone. Zero surface layer to wear off; survives dishwasher, UV, oven.

Silk-screen print — decoration on silicone product

Silk-screen print

Ink applied to the cured silicone surface. Cost-effective for multi-color artwork. Not recommended for dishwasher or high-abrasion use.

Laser etch — decoration on silicone product

Laser etch

For stainless-steel components on roll-up racks. Permanent oxide mark, no fill or ink. Precision fine text and QR codes possible.

IML (four-color) — decoration on silicone product

IML (four-color)

In-mold label bonded into the silicone during cure. Photorealistic four-color artwork. Highest-cost method but the most durable full-color option.

Customization · Packaging

Six retail-ready packaging formats.

Pick the format that matches your channel. We ship any of the six as standard; custom brand box is available on any program above MOQ 1,000.

QC & compliance

Three checkpoints per batch. 36-month lot retention.

First-article CMM check. Post-cure visual and drop test on every unit. Pre-pack AQL 1.5 random sampling per ISO 2859-1, General Inspection Level II. Master-batch lot numbers tie every defect back to the production cycle in our 36-month retention log. Every batch ships with third-party FDA + LFGB test reports referencing that lot number.

FAQ · capability

Five questions procurement teams ask before signing.

  • Do you run both compression and LSR injection?

Yes — both under one roof. Compression for HCR, roll-up geometries, larger surface parts, and thicker sections (mats, cushions, gasket profiles, trivets). LSR injection for tight-tolerance parts, children's products, healthcare-adjacent accessories, consumer electronics parts, and any program where the tolerance envelope demands it.

  • What is post-cure and why does it matter?

Post-cure is a 4–6 hour oven cycle at 200 °C after molding. It drives off residual volatile compounds — oligomers in both cure systems, plus peroxide decomposition byproducts on peroxide-cure. Without post-cure, silicone products fail LFGB §30/31 organic volatile testing. We run post-cure on every batch as standard.

  • What mold material do you use — and who owns it?

P20 hardened steel for all production tooling. 500,000+ shot life. The customer owns the mold once tooling is paid; it stays in our customer-segregated mold storage for the life of the program and can be transferred at any time under written request.

  • What decoration methods work on food-contact silicone?

In-mold debossing (most durable, best for premium retail), silk-screen (short-lived, avoid dishwasher exposure), laser etch (stainless-steel components only), and IML (in-mold label — full-color, bonded to silicone during cure). Debossing and IML survive 500+ dishwasher cycles.

  • How do you match brand-specific Pantone colors?

Master-batch color, mixed to Pantone TPX or TPG spec at ±0.5 ΔE tolerance. Color is molecular through the part — not a surface coating that wears off. Cross-checked on the first-article sample under a D65 light box before approving production.

Send a brief, get an engineer's reply in one business day.

Every Wetop program is custom-tooled to a customer’s spec. To scope your program we need your CAD file (STEP · IGES · DWG) or a written brief, your target volume, and any compliance requirements (FDA, LFGB, EN 14350, RoHS, and so on). We reply with a mold cost estimate, price brackets at MOQ 500 / 1,000 / 5,000, and 2–4 engineering questions about edge cases in your spec.
